What does IDAHOBIT mean to me?

A day to pay my respects to my queer trailblazers in history, who fought hard (and often losing their life, or being ostracised from their community and homes) for life as a queer person to be as it is today. It is also a day to acknowledge the work that still needs to happen for us to be safe, seen and accepted as there are still large pockets of bigotry, hate and violence, most alarmingly seen in people in positions of power. It is a day of reflection, commemoration and indeed celebration.
