Grampians Health Edenhope to provide physiotherapy services

19 October 2022

As part of Grampians Health’s commitment to bring clinical care closer to regional communities, Naracoorte Physiotherapy Clinic will begin providing their services in Edenhope from this week.

Physiotherapist Emma Schultz and her team from Naracoorte Physiotherapy Clinic will be visiting Grampians Health’s Edenhope campus once a week to provide the service.

The availability of the physiotherapy service at Edenhope is expected to bring care closer to home to those who need it.

“We have lots of clients from the Edenhope community travelling over to Naracoorte at the moment so it will save them the extra travel,” said Ms Schultz.

The physiotherapy clinic will be able to assist in treating musculoskeletal problems including arthritis, back pain and headaches.

“We can also help with sporting injuries, work related injuries, orthopaedic rehab after surgery and motor vehicle accidents,” Ms Schultz said.”

Referrals to our service is not necessary unless you are claiming under DVA or workcover.”

Jo Grant, primary health coordinator at Grampians Health Edenhope, welcomed the return of physiotherapy services to Edenhope and said: “I welcome Emma and the team back and to have this service available to our aged care residents, inpatients and to the community. Our Allied Health Assistant Annie Church will work with Emma and the team to assist clients.”

Accessible care is one of the key strategic priorities that were identified in the Strategic Plan of Grampians Health, which was formed in November 2021 following the amalgamation of Stawell Regional Health, Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital, Wimmera Health Care Group and Ballarat Health Services.
